“Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction”
Peer Support
is about sharing these skills and experience with other disabled people who lack confidence or are experiencing barriers to getting active such as low confidence or access issues. It takes many forms but is usually one to one and informal.
Mentoring
tends to be more structured and is focussed on setting goals and reaching them. Both models will be looked at as part of the GOGA Peer Support project.

Become a mentor
Could you become a mentor to support other disabled people to become
more active?
By mentoring you will be helping someone to reach their potential, get more
fit and improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
- You will receive comprehensive training
- You will be matched with one mentee who has similar interests and
where possible, lives in your local area - Time commitment is flexible- it fits in with your schedule (a maximum
of two sessions of activity per month) - You will get on-going support, training and a reference at the end
